Nominations close on Friday, 31 May 2013 to place candidates in the running for a shared prize pool of $30,000, generously provided by long-term HESTA awards sponsor, ME Bank.
HESTA CEO Anne-Marie Corboy said the awards are about recognising those in the aged care sector who demonstrate excellence, leadership and dedication to caring for older Australians.
“Those working in aged care provide a wide range of services, from keeping older Australians healthy and living independently, to preventing and managing illness, and providing high-level care to the frail,” Ms Corboy said.
“They also deliver vital services in a compassionate way, providing emotional support to clients, while helping preserve their dignity and independence for as long as possible.” HESTA is rewarding Australia’s leading contributors to aged care in three award categories:
- Outstanding Organisation — Recognising an outstanding contribution by an organisation, through the development and/or provision of high quality care using technology to develop efficiencies and enhance the wellbeing of those in their care.
- Individual Distinction — Recognising exceptional service by an individual who has significantly changed and improved the quality of service provision to older Australians.
- Team Innovation — Recognising a team that has used collaboration and innovation to deliver better health outcomes for older Australians
HESTA Aged Care Awards finalists will be announced on 16 July 2013, with interstate finalists flown to Sydney for an
