New national nursing scholarship program

Thursday 28th February, 2013

The Australian Nursing Federation (ANF), in conjunction with ME Bank and the Association of Nursing Recruitment Agencies (ANRA), is pleased to announce a new national nursing scholarship program.

The 2013 ME Bank Agency Nurses Scholarship will deliver continued access to professional development for nurses, midwives, assistants in nursing and personal care workers who work with ANRA member agencies.

“The ANF is delighted with the ongoing support of ME Bank and ANRA in assisting nursing, midwifery and personal care agency workers to continue their professional education through this unique national scholarship program,” ANF Federal Secretary, Lee Thomas, said today.

“These scholarships will provide nursing, midwifery and care workers with the opportunity to develop best practice clinical skills which will result in safe patient care across the various health settings in which they work.”

As part of the program, scholarships will be available for financial assistance to meet the costs of attending conferences, short courses or online training programs.

Applicants are asked to describe how the education and training will benefit their professional skills and how they will transfer that knowledge to advance their clinical practice.

The scholarship is open to all nurses, midwives, assistants in nursing and personal care workers working with ANRA member agencies for more than 12 months. Applications open March 1 and close June 30, 2013.

Further information and application forms will be available online at www.rcsa.com.au from 1 March 2013 or through ANRA member agencies.

The ANF, with over 225,000 members, is the professional and industrial voice for nurses, midwives and assistants in nursing in Australia.
