Monday 30th January, 2017

Are you a nurse of midwife who uses Facebook? This survey may be of interest: The positives, perils and pitfalls of social media for nurses.

Dr Janet Green (RN), a nursing academic and Doctor of Education student at the University of Technology Sydney, is researching “the positives, perils and pitfalls of social media (Facebook) for nurses”.  The purpose of her research and online survey is to find out how registered nurses, midwives and enrolled nurses use Facebook, and to ascertain their experiences using this social networking platform. She wishes to use this data to help undergraduate nurses and midwives navigate the complexities of Facebook and prevent unprofessional behaviour and breaches in confidentiality.

If you use Facebook, could you please fill out the survey at http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/2502175/39663da26b86. The survey is open until 9th February 2017. The study has ethics approval from the University of Technology Sydney UTS HREC REF NO. 2014000030.
