Healthcare Equity
Enabling equitable access to safe and affordable healthcare for all Australians.
Ensuring equitable access to healthcare
Ensuring equitable access to healthcare means that every Australian, irrespective of their socioeconomic status, geographical location, or other factors, has the capacity to access essential health services when and where they need them. The ANMF is actively involved in a range of strategically aligned initiatives to achieve this goal, such as reviews, taskforces, and advisory groups.
Primary Healthcare Reforms
The ANMF is part of an alliance of 9 nursing and midwifery peak bodies advocating for primary healthcare reforms to improve access to healthcare for all Australians.
Equity and inclusivity
Nurses and midwives help to reduce health disparities and inequities across the country where access to healthcare services is often limited.
Working to full scope of practice
The ANMF is seeking implementation of the Unleashing the Potential of our Health Workforce’ Scope of Practice Review that will enable nurses and midwives to fully utilise their skills, education and experience.
