Astrid Tiefholz is a Registered Nurse, Credentialled Mental Health Nurse, Registered Midwife and Lactation Consultant. Since completing her dual degree in nursing and midwifery at La Trobe University in 2006, Astrid has undertaken postgraduate studies including a Master of Applied Management (Nursing), a Master of Mental Health Nursing, and a Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Clinical Teaching). She also holds a Diploma of Counselling, and is a Registered Counsellor and Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician (Mental Health). 

Currently employed as the Tasmanian Clinical Nurse Navigator in a national Perinatal Infant Mental Health (PIMH) program, Astrid has previously worked across the spectrum of maternity services specialties in Melbourne and Hobart, paediatric and neonatal services, as well as general and perinatal mental health services in Hobart.  She believes strongly in the importance of accessibility of mental health services to clients across the lifespan, and is a proud advocate for the role of Advanced Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioners in improving outcomes for individuals and the community. 

Astrid has been a proud member of the ANMF since her student days, and has worked in Member Support at ANMF Tasmania, and as a workplace delegate at the Royal Hobart Hospital. She has served on the Tasmanian ANMF Branch Council since 2017, and is honoured to serve and represent the nursing and midwifery workforce at the Federal level. 

In her spare time, Astrid loves bushwalking and beach time with her family. Her other great passion in life is theatre, and she is a familiar face to audiences at The Playhouse in Hobart.
